If
you've got it, shoot it
Topsoil began out of
frustration.
As a micro-budget film-maker I'm always writing projects above my
means. I'd had several scripts founder because I couldn't secure
a vital shooting asset, be it a location or a cast member.
With Topsoil I began from the notion of using only what I had absolute
faith in being able to secure. This led to the idea of someone being
forced to dig their own grave. All I would need would be actors
and a hole in the ground.
Well, it turned out to be a little more demanding than that, but
I'm pleased to say that Topsoil became, I think, an unusual film
on very limited means.
I hope you enjoy it. |
